Whereupon We Make Home Improvements
Weeeelll it's not a stretch to say we've been a little remiss in filling you all in on the life and times. Our seedlings got big (VERY big in the case of the nasturtiums!) and now we've had a frost or two, which is always bittersweet. This pic of the garden was taken around Labor Day.
We had a blast in Michigan in early August, getting together for a big Rahn reunion with the whole posse, including our two hilarious nieces, Jorga and Emma.
I gave a presentation at the art gallery, and wore peep-toe heels that remind me of one Ruby Weinmeister.
Okay okay so now it's Fall, the leaves were beautiful (I took no pictures...sorry) and we've just installed our wood pellet stove. As my dad says, "The only thing better than a fire is a mechanized fire." So these pictures are of the hearth as we were building it, our friends helping us haul the cast iron beast into our house, and the fire we have to show for it!
So that's the update! Thanks to Lisa for keeping the blog alive, and cheers to many more Weinmeister adventures to blog about.

Wow! What a project! I am impressed with your handiness. And impressed by the "Sweet Potato" living room. Seems like the perfect color for a cozy Vermont house. Makes me want to curl up in front of a crackling pellet stove and read a book.
Seems our siblings and parents had a couple fun get togethers this summer. As the coastal outliers, we'll have to make a point of meeting up sometime in 2009. I did inadvertently convince Mom and Dad to drink the Oregon Kool-Aid however, and will have new neighbors very soon...
HAHAAHAH "drink the Oregon Kool-aid" I know! We coast-dwellers miss out on all the fun. We should schedule some kind of Weinmeister Summit involving horse shoes, mint juleps, gardening wisdom, and tall tales involving cars. I miss all you Weins.
Is the wall on fire?
Oh my god muffin pants. I love the color you eneded up with and the pellet stove looks frickin' fannnnnntastic!!! Just think, there is a possibility I might be there to be warmed by it this winter. :)
During our wonderful early October visit in OKC we heard about the stove and the Sweet Potato paint. It is wonderful to see it all together. How cozy it looks, I can't wait to get to the east coast to to get the "feeling".
I am with Pappy W on the automated fire feed after years of waking up frozen and having to reload the stove in the middle of the night.
Hopefully 2009 will be the year of the big "get together".
